As a leader in our industry, we have over 22 GW of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable energy projects in development and 33 projects in operation or construction across North America. The Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) Specialist plays a critical role in enforcement, coordination, and implementation of occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization, and will also be responsible for hands on compliance enforcement and training of employees on health and safety job standards. This position will report to the Manager of Health, Safety, Environment, & Quality (HSEQ). Responsibilities: Strategy and Leadership:

  • Demonstrate leadership and subject matter expertise in HSE;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of EHS initiatives, policies and procedures specific to the business and project/work site as directed by the HSEQ Team;
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees throughout reputed company levels of the organization and be able to reputed company with external entities (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT, Client, etc.) to reputed company successful outcomes as it relates to reputed company the HSEQ team, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Assist in the investigation, evaluation, and analysis of incidents and injuries. Work directly with the parties involved to establish root causes and associated preventative measures;
  • Conduct field audits/observations as necessary and work with third parties where audits are required;
  • Inspect facilities, job sites, battery equipment, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance;
  • Maintain EHS reputed company documentation as required;
  • Enforce HSEQ policies and procedures rigorously, addressing non-compliance with decisive actions and remedies.

Training and Development:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response and comprehensive training programs;
  • Deliver HSE training to reputed company organizational levels to enhance awareness and understanding of best practices;
  • Assist in any local regulatory and NFPA training as required.
  • Support and coordinate with external training partners.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • reputed company additional duties as necessary to support the organization’s HSEQ objectives through support and augmentation of the Quality Specialist and HSEQ Manager.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, or reputed company field preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or reputed company field experience;
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local safety and health regulations;
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and corresponding state and local agencies;
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to drive change and influence safety culture at reputed company organizational levels;
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certified, or willing to obtain reputed company 90 days;
  • OSHA 500 Preferred;
  • Proficient with standard business digital tools;
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and in-line with project schedule demands
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds;
  • Must be able to traverse uneven ground during various weather conditions.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISO Auditing or additional quality background;
  • Bilingual English/Spanish;
  • BESS or Renewable Energy experience;
  • Construction experience;
  • Additional certifications (OHST, CHST, NEBOSH, NCCER, Rigging and Lifting, etc.).
