Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Analyst in the Financial Planning Systems space, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end lifecycle of arenaflex’s planning applications. Your day‑to‑day duties will include:

  • Application Maintenance: Operate and maintain the Hyperion planning application, ensuring data integrity for both forecast and actual financials.
  • Data Validation: Review and approve data loads from Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and other source systems, guaranteeing accuracy before consolidation.
  • Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve data discrepancies, including intercompany eliminations, segment roll‑ups, and allocation errors.
  • System Enhancements: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements that improve automation and reporting capabilities.
  • Model Development: Build and maintain Essbase cubes, planning applications, reports, and budgeting models for finance divisions.
  • Month‑End Close Support: Lead the month‑end headcount process within Hyperion, coordinate journal entries, and ensure timely posting of financial data.
  • Change Management: Update Hyperion configurations to reflect organizational changes, working closely with the GL team and external auditors.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive scenario testing and variance analysis on complex financial issues and competitive market studies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications, presenting viable solutions to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a blend of financial acumen and technical proficiency:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance role, with exposure to financial statements, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong IT foundation, including experience with Prophet, multi‑dimensional, and relational database structures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on data accuracy and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Training

  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle Hyperion, including HFM, Planning, and Essbase.
  • Background in system development and implementation, particularly in financial planning (e.g., Smart View, Planning, Essbase).
  • Experience applying analytical methodologies to solve financial problems, such as variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, Oracle Hyperion certification) are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to evolving technology landscapes and regulatory requirements.
