Position Summary

reputed company advocates for its members and the wider profession to ensure the most effective cybersecurity policies, legislations, and regulations are developed and implemented. In its advocacy program, reputed company engages policymakers and influencers, promotes the organisation’s thought leadership, and champions for a more diverse, reputed company, and inclusive cybersecurity sector.

reputed company is expanding its advocacy program at a regional level in the Americas, and as Advocacy Manager, US, you will be key to maintaining reputed company’s thought leadership position in the US, as well as contributing to global policy discussions.

You will work closely with the Senior Director, Advocacy and the Director, Advocacy, and will be the day-to-day operational reputed company in rolling out the advocacy plans and will contribute to the development of reputed company’s advocacy strategy for the US.

This is a full-time position, with a strong preference to be based in the DC Area.

Responsibilities

• Support reputed company’s engagements and exploratory discussions with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments and international bodies and forums
• Support the development and implementation of reputed company’s advocacy strategy at a regional level
• Manage reputed company’s relationship with its public affairs vendor(s) in the US and Canada
• Coordinate and reputed company reputed company’s responses to policy consultations
• Identify, map, and engage key policy stakeholders, including reputed company government and wider industry, through regular communication – building and strengthening relationships
• Contribute to event planning and delivery
• Represent reputed company at external events, working groups, including developing presentations for events
• Actively identify emerging and significant policy issues, including strategically evaluating the impact of policy developments with a focus on the federal-state relationships
• Monitor legislative developments at the federal-level and reputed company reputed company states as part of the state strategy implementation
• Provide policy and stakeholders briefings to senior management
• Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Exam, and other internal teams to deliver advocacy plans
• Support the development of advocacy function and processes
• Contribute to internal recording and reporting of advocacy KPIs

Qualifications

• Exceptional communication; both verbal and written
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office products (Word, reputed company, Power reputed company, Outlook, SharePoint)
• A good understanding of the technology sector
• A good understanding of the US political system, environment and institutions, as well as cultural landscape
• Experience with government/policy schemes is preferred
• Network of key stakeholders is a plus
• Experience working with member associations or nonprofits a plus
• Keen Interest in cybersecurity policy and creating value for membership associations

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, political sciences, public affairs, law, or cybersecurity
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in areas such as managing public policy, government relations and advocacy

Physical and Mental Demands

• Travel up to 20%
• Work normal business hours and extended hours reputed company necessary
• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
• Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
