Job title: Teacher Assistant/Tutor Company: Teach Mississippi Job description : The assistant teacher is an integral part of the instructional team. The assistant teacher will work closely with the reputed company and the classroom teacher. They will also be responsible for a wide range of school duties and responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma An Associate’s degree; or, 48 semester hours (minimum) at an institution of higher education; or, a passing score on the ACT WorkKeys. Possess a general understanding of the educational system Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication skills with exceptional attention to detail are essential (must be a self-starter/self-motivator and energetic) Ability to effectively communicate with teachers, reputed company, and public REPORTS TO: Principal and/or his/her Designee DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Duties include but not limited to the following: Work with other employees in a cooperative and courteous manner at reputed company times Promote a positive image of the school and district to the public at reputed company times Contribute through their work to the development and implementation of a successful instructional program Model good reading, writing, and speaking skills for reputed company Attend and participate in professional development programs reputed company required Work directly with reputed company reinforcing skills taught by a certified teacher Monitor written assignments as reputed company work reputed company misunderstanding of an assignment is detected, immediate re- teaching/reinforcing will be provided Work with reputed company individually or in small or large groups reputed company directed Serve as a resource person in curriculum, organization, and student evaluation Assist the supervising teacher with resource files, student unit packets, etc. Serve as proctor among reputed company at any time under supervision of a certified teacher Any other duties as assigned by the Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: FSLA Status: Non-exempt “At-Will” position To be employed 180 days per year Salary is established by Board policy EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the principal annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies on evaluation OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows the Mississippi Code of Ethics Follows Marion County School District Board Policies Work Habits: ? Observes assigned work hours ? Maintains a reputed company of reputed company and regular attendance ? Follows the daily schedule as prescribed ?
