About the position The Phlebotomist I position is responsible for collecting specimens and performing various laboratory tasks in accordance with established procedures. This role is essential for ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing, as well as maintaining compliance with departmental protocols. Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings. , ? Administer oral solutions as per established training. , ? Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems. , ? Accurately enter data and billing information, and collect payments when required. , ? Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test orders. , ? Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, sanitizing, filing, and answering phones. , ? Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies and procedures. , ? Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data as required. , ? Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance and temperature logs. , ? Complete online and in-person training courses in a timely manner. Requirements ? High school diploma or equivalent. , ? Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred. , ? Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington). , ? One year of phlebotomy experience preferred. , ? Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. , ? Keyboard/data entry experience. Nice-to-haves ? Experience in a healthcare setting. , ?
