Why This Role Matters

In today’s hyper‑connected world, the reliability of arenaflex’s network infrastructure is the backbone of every online transaction, in‑store experience, and supply‑chain operation. As a Remote Network Support Engineer, you will be the guardian of that backbone, ensuring that critical network services stay up, perform optimally, and recover swiftly from any incident. Your work will directly influence the seamless operation of arenaflex’s warehouses, data centers, regional offices, colocation sites, and cloud environments.

Role Overview

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while collaborating with a distributed team of engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders. You will be responsible for proactive monitoring, incident response, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement of arenaflex’s network services. The role demands strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a relentless drive for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain arenaflex’s enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Perform end‑to‑end incident management: detection, classification, escalation, resolution, and post‑mortem documentation.
  • Coordinate with specialist vendor teams to replace or repair failed equipment, minimizing business impact.
  • Document all incident steps in detail, ensuring clear, concise, and actionable records for leadership review.
  • Conduct regular capacity planning and performance analysis for data‑center, regional office, colocation, and cloud network segments.
  • Lead scheduled training sessions to keep the team current on emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Develop and implement network enhancements that improve reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Provide tier‑1 and tier‑2 support to internal customers, translating complex technical concepts into understandable language.
  • Maintain and update network diagrams, configuration repositories, and change‑management records in accordance with ITIL processes.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on projects such as WAN optimization, SD‑WAN rollout, and migration to cloud‑based services.
  • Respond to on‑call duties, including after‑hours and weekend coverage, to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Prime) to proactively identify and remediate potential issues.
  • Assist in the procurement of network hardware, working closely with vendors to secure the best pricing and delivery schedules.
  • Analyze network traffic patterns to identify bottlenecks and recommend architectural improvements.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative problem‑solving environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Ethernet, Fiber, MPLS, VPN, ISDN, Dedicated IP, and Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
  • Hands‑on experience with network devices such as switches, routers, and remote controllers.
  • Proficiency in subnetting, VLAN configuration, and IP addressing schemes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer‑service mindset.
  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting abilities for complex incidents.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework for incident, problem, change, and request management.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to translate technical jargon for non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to process consistency.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative, innovative, and proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
  • Team‑oriented approach with a focus on collaborative success.
  • Solid knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for documentation and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on‑site visits and vendor coordination.
  • Availability for on‑call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with arenaflex‑specific warehouse and point‑of‑sale hardware environments.
