About arenaflex

arenaflex is a fast‑growing creator of immersive digital experiences, renowned for delivering high‑quality games that blend innovative gameplay with cutting‑edge technology. With studios spanning North America, Europe, and Latin America, arenaflex has built a reputation for fostering a collaborative culture where creativity meets engineering excellence. Our mission is to empower players worldwide while providing our teams with the tools, autonomy, and support they need to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment. As part of our expansion into the vibrant Panamanian market, we are looking for enthusiastic, detail‑oriented individuals to join our multidisciplinary crew.

Role Overview

The Entry-Level Data Entry & Gear Engineering Associate will serve as a critical bridge between art, design, and engineering teams. In this role, you will identify workflow inefficiencies, develop and maintain custom tooling, and help streamline the production pipeline that powers arenaflex’s flagship titles. While the position is entry‑level, you will be entrusted with ownership of key processes that directly impact the quality and speed of game development. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who love solving puzzles, enjoy working with code, and are passionate about empowering teammates to achieve their best work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively detect and document inefficiencies across art, design, and engineering pipelines, turning observations into actionable improvement plans.
  • Maintain, extend, and support arenaflex’s existing suite of development tools, ensuring they remain reliable, performant, and aligned with evolving project needs.
  • Design, build, and manage custom asset pipelines that automate repetitive tasks such as texture conversion, model validation, and animation retargeting.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, level designers, and programmers to gather requirements, evaluate trade‑offs, and implement solutions that balance speed, quality, and technical feasibility.
  • Contribute to the growth of arenaflex’s proprietary libraries and frameworks, making them reusable across multiple game engines and project teams.
  • Provide clear documentation, training sessions, and ongoing support to ensure smooth adoption of new tools and processes by the broader crew.
  • Participate in regular sprint reviews and retrospectives, offering data‑driven insights that help refine development workflows.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving tool‑related issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers when necessary.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong enthusiasm for helping others succeed and a genuine interest in improving collaborative workflows.
  • Hands‑on experience with the full lifecycle of software tools: from identifying problems, prototyping solutions, to measuring impact.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: C#, C++, Python.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Passion for video games and a solid understanding of the challenges faced by art and design teams during production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or extending custom game engines, particularly within the context of large‑scale projects.
  • Familiarity with industry‑standard engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, including their scripting APIs.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, RESTful services) that can be leveraged for internal tooling dashboards.
  • Previous work on asset pipeline automation, build systems, or continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) for game development.
  • Exposure to version control systems (Git, Perforce) and collaborative platforms (Jira, Confluence).
  • Demonstrated ability to produce a portfolio or resume that showcases relevant tooling projects or contributions to open‑source game‑related repositories.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex workflows, identify bottlenecks, and propose data‑backed improvements.
  • Technical Versatility: Comfort switching between scripting, compiled languages, and visual scripting environments as project demands evolve.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player who thrives in cross‑functional settings, actively listening to stakeholders and incorporating feedback.
  • Problem‑Solving: Creative approach to troubleshooting, with a willingness to experiment, iterate, and learn from failures.
  • Documentation Discipline: Commitment to producing clear, maintainable documentation that empowers non‑technical team members.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust priorities in a fast‑paced game development cycle, while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Career Development & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional growth of its employees. As a Data Entry & Gear Engineering Associate, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior engineers who have shipped multiple AAA titles.
  • Quarterly technical workshops covering topics such as advanced C++ optimization, Python for automation, and emerging game‑engine features.
  • Funding for industry conferences, certifications, and online courses that align with your career aspirations.
  • A clear promotion pathway that can lead to roles such as Tool Engineer, Pipeline Lead, or Technical Director within two to three years, based on performance and initiative.
  • Opportunities to contribute to open‑source projects and internal research initiatives, enhancing both your résumé and arenaflex’s reputation in the community.

Work Environment & Culture

Our Panamanian studio embraces a hybrid work model, offering flexible hours and the option to work remotely when needed. The office space is designed to foster creativity, featuring collaborative zones, quiet focus rooms, and a game‑testing lounge where you can unwind and play the latest builds. arenaflex’s culture is built on three pillars:

Our leadership maintains an open‑door policy, ensuring that junior staff have direct access to decision‑makers and can influence the direction of tooling and workflow initiatives.

  • Performance‑based bonuses tied to project milestones and individual contributions.
  • Comprehensive health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision for you and eligible dependents.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation days, sick leave, and public holidays.
  • Retirement savings plan with company matching contributions.
  • Professional development stipend for courses, certifications, or conference attendance.
  • Wellness programs, including gym memberships, mental‑health resources, and regular wellness challenges.
  • Employee assistance program (EAP) that provides confidential counseling and support services.
  • Access to the latest hardware and software tools, ensuring you have the resources needed to innovate.
