Position Summary: Remote Monitoring Specialist (Call Center Representative)

arenaflex is currently hiring entry-level and early-career Remote Monitoring Specialists to join our award-winning customer service and emergency response team. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for customers experiencing alarm activity, emergency signals, and service-related inquiries. You will answer incoming calls, verify alarm signals, dispatch emergency responders when necessary, and provide exceptional customer support that reflects arenaflex’s commitment to excellence.

As a Monitoring Representative I, you will be trained to handle a wide range of signals and customer interactions under close supervision during your first 30 days. This is a remote, work-from-home position, with all classroom instruction and on-the-job training conducted onsite at our Manasquan, New Jersey training facility located at 2210 Landmark Place, Manasquan, NJ 08736.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Monitoring Specialist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for a variety of critical duties, including but not limited to the following:

  • Emergency Signal Verification & Dispatch: Verify, respond to, and dispatch emergency signals to the appropriate police, fire, and medical agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Incoming Call Management: Answer a high volume of incoming calls from customers, emergency responders, and other stakeholders while maintaining professionalism and composure.
  • Multi-State Licensing Compliance: Maintain the necessary licensure to work in all states with regulatory requirements for monitoring services.
  • Signal Classification & SOP Adherence: Understand and correctly identify the different types of alarm signals, and apply the appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each.
  • Customer Notifications: Notify customers of non-emergency signals and follow up with relevant parties on emergency signals after dispatch.
  • Account Data Management: Process basic data changes to customer accounts accurately and efficiently.
  • Specialty Station Handling: Handle signals from one specific location/area as well as TTY (teletypewriter) stations for customers with hearing or speech impairments.
  • Productivity & Quality Standards: Meet or exceed minimum productivity and quality standards (90% or better average on Quality Assurance reviews).
  • Policy & Procedure Awareness: Stay informed about company goals, organizational structure, central station policies, and industry best practices.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Close Supervision During Onboarding: Operate under close supervision during the first 30 days of employment while building competency in all required areas.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge Requirements

  • Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), and internet navigation.
  • Familiarity with arenaflex company policies, procedures, guidelines, and operational practices.
  • Basic understanding of VIP accounts, customer tiers, and inter-departmental functions.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and adjust approach as needed.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over extended periods without distraction.
  • Ability to maintain composure, keep emotions in check, and avoid aggressive behavior — even in very difficult or emotionally charged situations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • One to three months of related customer service, call center, or alarm monitoring experience preferred — but not required. Relevant training or certifications are also a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this role, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, twist, use hands to handle or feel objects, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment

This is a fully remote position after the successful completion of onsite training. All classroom and on-the-job training will be conducted at our Manasquan, New Jersey training facility at 2210 Landmark Place, Manasquan, NJ 08736.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, consistent with a normal office or remote call center environment.
