Join arenaflex: Drive Data Innovation with Google Cloud for the Public Sector

Are you a results-driven sales professional with a passion for cloud-based data analytics and a desire to make a meaningful impact on government and educational institutions? arenaflex is looking for an accomplished Data Analytics Sales Specialist to join our dynamic Google Cloud team, supporting public sector clients across the United States. This is an exceptional opportunity to combine your expertise in data analytics, cloud technology, and strategic sales to help state, local, and educational organizations accelerate their digital transformation journeys.

At arenaflex, we bring the power of Google Cloud to the mission of government and education. Our team is purpose-built to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure data solutions that help public institutions become more productive, collaborative, and data-driven. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building trusted advisor relationships with executive stakeholders, and want to work with cutting-edge technology—then this role is the perfect fit for you.

About the Role

As a Data Analytics Sales Specialist at arenaflex, you will be a key member of our Google Cloud sales organization, responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within the public sector. You will focus on helping customers run data analytics workloads on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), recommending transformative data products that modernize legacy systems, and enabling better decision-making through real-time insights.

This position is ideal for a sales hunter with a strong technical foundation in cloud-based data solutions and a proven track record of selling to government, higher education, or state and local agencies. You will work remotely from anywhere within the United States, with occasional travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and team gatherings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to drive broad Data Analytics engagement into new arenaflex Cloud accounts, focusing on state, local government, and higher education customers.
  • Workload Acceleration: Identify and drive new Data Analytics workloads within existing arenaflex Cloud accounts, accelerating consumption of analytics products and increasing overall data spend.
  • Executive Relationship Building: Build, nurture, and maintain strong C-level and senior executive relationships with public sector clients, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on data analytics strategy.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Develop and implement business strategies to shorten and accelerate sales cycles, collaborating with cross-functional teams including solution engineers, product specialists, and customer success managers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with partner organizations, marketing, technical teams, and customer success groups to develop new business opportunities and expand existing customer relationships.
  • Value Articulation: Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value propositions for executive audiences, acting as a thought leader in data analytics topics.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in cloud data analytics, AI/ML, and big data to provide strategic insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Quota Attainment: Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets, pipeline goals, and key performance indicators related to new business acquisition and existing account growth.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and account plans in CRM systems, providing regular updates to leadership on business performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in business, technology, marketing, or a related field.
  • Sales Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience selling information analytics software products, solutions, or platforms to enterprise customers.
  • Public Sector Experience: Demonstrated experience in government-level sales or consulting, specifically with cloud-based technologies (such as SaaS) sold to state and local government agencies and higher education institutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed for client meetings, conferences, and team events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Background: Hands-on experience working with market-leading Business Intelligence front-end tools, Data Analytics middleware, or back-end Data Warehouse technologies.
  • AI/ML Knowledge: Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies integrated within data analytics solutions.
  • Cloud Data Stack Expertise: Deep understanding of Cloud Data Analytics technology stacks, including Hadoop/Spark data lakes, SQL data warehouses, data streaming, ETL processes, data governance, business intelligence, predictive analytics, OLAP systems, data science frameworks, BigQuery, Looker, and related tools.
  • Thought Leadership: Proven ability to translate business value into technology initiatives and act as a recognized thought leader in data analytics topics within the industry.
  • Consultative Selling: Experience with consultative, solution-based selling methodologies such as MEDDIC, Challenger, or similar frameworks.
  • Public Sector Relationships: Established network of contacts within state, local, and higher education government agencies.
  • Certifications: Google Cloud Professional certifications or equivalent credentials from other major cloud providers.
