Our mission is to build resilient, scalable, and sustainable hardware ecosystems that empower businesses, developers, and end‑users alike. As part of our rapidly expanding Technical Operations team, you will join a culture that celebrates curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s data‑driven economy, the reliability of server hardware and network connectivity is non‑negotiable. As a Data Center Operations Technician at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our state‑of‑the‑art facilities run flawlessly. Your work will directly impact the performance of critical services that millions of users depend on every second. Whether you are installing new racks, troubleshooting complex Linux clusters, or leading a cross‑functional project to roll out next‑generation networking gear, your contributions will shape the future of digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain server hardware—including blades, racks, and peripheral components—across multiple data center locations.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Linux‑based operating systems on high‑density servers, ensuring optimal performance and security compliance.
  • Design, implement, and support advanced networking equipment such as routers, switches, bridges, and load balancers, adhering to industry‑standard protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLAN).
  • Lead or participate in small, agile project teams focused on large‑scale hardware rollouts, capacity expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop and execute detailed deployment plans, risk assessments, and contingency procedures to minimize service disruption.
  • Provide Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 technical support for escalated hardware and network incidents, collaborating with global support teams to resolve root‑cause issues.
  • Document configuration changes, maintenance activities, and incident reports in arenaflex’s knowledge base to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor system health using telemetry tools, proactively identifying potential failures and recommending preventive actions.
  • Contribute to the design and testing of prototype hardware and software solutions, offering feedback that drives product innovation.
  • Mentor junior technicians and share best practices, fostering a collaborative learning environment within the operations team.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Linux+, Cisco CCNA) are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting hardware and networking issues in a data‑center or similar environment.
  • Proficiency with Linux command‑line tools, shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl), and basic automation frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, and Ethernet standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to install, configure, and maintain server hardware components such as CPUs, memory modules, storage arrays, and power supplies.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment with the ability to respond to urgent incidents outside of regular business hours.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with a methodical approach to diagnosing complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; capable of collaborating with engineers, project managers, and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience with data‑center automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and monitoring platforms (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Exposure to hardware testing methodologies and the ability to develop test scripts for new equipment.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., PCI‑DSS, HIPAA) with an emphasis on security best practices.
  • Track record of leading small‑scale projects from conception through execution, delivering on schedule and within budget.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Deep knowledge of server architectures, Linux operating systems, and networking hardware.
