Why This Role Matters

The Software Engineer – Data Integration & AI/ML Automation you will join a high‑impact team responsible for the Scheduling Recovery System (SRS). SRS is the digital backbone that enables airlines to recover aircraft and crew schedules holistically, reducing disruption costs, improving customer satisfaction, and optimizing resource utilization. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Digital Technology leads, and Business stakeholders to define, scope, and prioritize enhancements for the SRS platform.
• Design, develop, and maintain micro‑services that expose RESTful APIs for schedule recovery, leveraging modern Java and Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Batch, Spring Security).
• Integrate AI/ML models—built in Python—into the workflow to automate decision‑making, predict disruption impacts, and recommend optimal recovery actions.
• Implement and manage end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines on the arenaflex cloud environment, ensuring reliable, repeatable deployments across multiple regions.
• Lead code reviews, conduct unit testing, and enforce best practices for quality, security, and performance.
• Mentor a small team of contract developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Partner with the Analytics team to embed data‑driven insights and reporting capabilities into the SRS product.
• Maintain and evolve the messaging infrastructure (arenaflex‑based messaging platforms) to guarantee low‑latency, high‑throughput communication between services.
• Develop responsive single‑page applications (SPAs) using Angular, React, TypeScript, and CSS3 to deliver intuitive user experiences for airline operations staff.
• Document architectural decisions, API specifications, and operational runbooks to support knowledge sharing across distributed teams.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Must Bring)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Professional Experience: At least 3 years of hands‑on experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging modern software applications for commercial or large‑scale internal use.
• Proven ability to contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to production support.
• Strong command of Java and the Spring ecosystem, including building and testing RESTful services.
• Experience building and maintaining micro‑services architectures with REST APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with the arenaflex cloud platform (compute, storage, and messaging services such as arenaflex‑Compute, arenaflex‑Containers, arenaflex‑Lambda, arenaflex‑S3, arenaflex‑RDS, arenaflex‑SQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with messaging platforms (arenaflex‑Messaging, arenaflex‑Queue, arenaflex‑Stream) for reliable inter‑service communication.
• Proficiency in Python for developing AI/ML components and data pipelines.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including building CI/CD pipelines on the arenaflex platform.
• Ability to create responsive SPAs using Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bootstrap, and CSS3.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented design, design patterns, and scalable software architecture.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Couchbase or similar technologies.
• Proficiency with Git, version control, and modern branching strategies.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic in a remote environment.
