Key Responsibilities

• Write clean, production‑grade code: Develop reusable, high‑performance infrastructure code using Python, Terraform, and Packer, adhering to best‑in‑class standards.
• Technical leadership: Serve as a hands‑on mentor for a team of 6‑8 engineers, providing architectural guidance, code reviews, and career development support.
• Problem solving at scale: Act as the go‑to expert for the most complex production incidents, troubleshooting issues that span multiple services and cloud regions.
• Documentation & standards: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, ensuring that all engineering teams follow arenaflex’s technical principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Infrastructure design: Design, implement, and evolve cloud‑native data pipelines and storage solutions, leveraging GCP services such as CloudSQL, Spanner, Firestore, and BigQuery.
• Streaming systems expertise: Build and maintain high‑throughput streaming platforms using Kafka, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Flink, guaranteeing low‑latency data delivery.
• Collaboration with product teams: Partner with development squads to scale and optimize data platforms, providing capacity planning, performance tuning, and reliability engineering support.
• Migration initiatives: Lead efforts to migrate legacy on‑premise workloads to the cloud, ensuring seamless transition with minimal disruption to end users.
• Automation & self‑service: Drive the creation of self‑service tooling that empowers engineers to provision, monitor, and manage data infrastructure independently.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or senior cloud data engineering roles.
• Proven track record designing, deploying, and operating large‑scale distributed data systems in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Deep expertise with cloud data stores: CloudSQL, Spanner, Firestore, BigQuery, and familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
• Extensive experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Flink (or equivalent).
• Strong proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools: Terraform, Packer, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and incident response frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, balancing multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GCP’s data processing services such as Dataproc, Data Fusion, and Bigtable.
• Background in building data lakes, data warehouses, or real‑time analytics platforms.

• Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and service mesh technologies.
