Role Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, self‑motivated Remote Data Entry Specialist to join arenaflex’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team. This full‑time, remote position offers a competitive rate of $25 per hour and provides a unique opportunity to support critical EHS initiatives, construction management, and compliance reporting from the comfort of your own home. You will serve as the primary data resource for the Waukee site’s EHS operations, collaborating closely with site leadership, contractors, and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter, validate, and organize large volumes of EHS data using arenaflex’s proprietary software platforms and cloud‑based collaboration tools.
  • Maintain and update the central EHS data repository, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports, permit applications, and audit documentation for air, water, and waste management.
  • Support incident investigation processes by logging findings, tracking corrective actions, and monitoring closure status.
  • Collaborate with on‑site and remote contractors to verify work permits, risk assessments, and control measures.
  • Participate in virtual EHS training sessions, helping to disseminate best practices and policy updates across the organization.
  • Provide timely, accurate responses to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying data trends, suggesting process enhancements, and supporting the rollout of new EHS technologies.
  • Offer after‑hours on‑call support for emergency response situations, ensuring rapid data capture and communication during critical incidents.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in data entry, records management, or related EHS functions, preferably within construction, contractor management, or industrial environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of applicable consensus standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, ISO, etc.).
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to learn and use data management solutions, online collaboration platforms, and virtual meeting tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Problem‑Solving Ability: Strong analytical mindset, capable of troubleshooting data discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Independence & Initiative: Proven track record of thriving in fast‑paced, remote work environments with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist).
  • Experience with environmental compliance reporting, permit tracking, and hazardous material management.
  • Familiarity with construction safety protocols, including confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements.
  • Background in statistical analysis or data visualization to support trend identification and decision‑making.
  • Previous involvement in cross‑functional EHS projects or system implementation initiatives.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous data entry and verification to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple data streams, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with a team‑first mindset, fostering effective partnerships across virtual teams.
  • Technical Acumen: Comfort with learning new software, databases, and digital communication tools.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to evolving project requirements and shifting priorities.
  • Ethical Judgment: Commitment to confidentiality, data security, and ethical handling of sensitive information.
