Remote · USA Full-time New today

Join arenaflex: Build the Future of Secure Cloud Infrastructure from Anywhere

Are you a driven systems engineering professional who thrives on reverse engineering complex challenges, automating mission-critical infrastructure, and delivering exceptional operational excellence? arenaflex is seeking a talented, self-motivated engineer to join our elite AWS Security Operations Center (SOC) Systems Engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of our Physical Access Control System (PACS) and play a pivotal part in designing, automating, and scaling robust infrastructure that supports thousands of internal partners across a globally distributed environment.

This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to engineer solutions at scale, push the boundaries of automation, and contribute to one of the most security-critical systems within a leading-edge cloud organization. If you have a passion for digging deep into problems, building elegant automated workflows, and continuously raising the bar for engineering quality, arenaflex wants to hear from you.

About arenaflex and the AWS Security Organization

arenaflex partners with global technology leaders to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure. Our collaboration with the AWS Security organization places us at the forefront of physical and digital security innovation. Within arenaflex, the AWS SOC Systems Engineering team is responsible for providing physical security systems that enable internal clients to perform their jobs safely, securely, and with unwavering trust in the underlying technology.

As our services grow and expand, so does our team. We bring together a high degree of technical acumen while remaining committed to continuous learning. The most exceptional aspect of our culture is the way team members uplift one another—celebrating diverse perspectives, encouraging curiosity, and consistently raising the bar in everything we do. When you join arenaflex, you join a community of builders, innovators, and problem-solvers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer on the arenaflex AWS Security team, you will be responsible for the overall health, performance, and continuous improvement of our Physical Access Control System. Your day-to-day work will blend deep technical troubleshooting with strategic automation initiatives.

  • System Health and Performance: Monitor service availability, create and maintain health and performance metrics, and ensure the PACS operates at peak efficiency across distributed environments.
  • Customer Partnership: Work closely with internal clients to understand their operational challenges and provide thoughtful, scalable solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Automation Excellence: Design, develop, and deploy automation scripts to streamline routine tasks, enabling the team to be fast, agile, and focused on high-impact work.
  • Legacy Modernization: Replace legacy servers and upgrade our Lenel environment to improve system stability, reduce technical debt, and support downstream applications requiring higher availability.
  • Certificate and License Management: Engineer advanced, automated solutions for certificate rotation and license upgrades that are seamless for end users and reduce manual overhead for the team.
  • Architecture and Design: Architect modern solutions for running PACS at scale, including preparing current systems for company-wide improvements and designing new automated deployment pipelines.
  • Security and Compliance: Perform regular system maintenance, apply patches, and execute security compliance activities to meet and exceed organizational standards.
  • On-Call Participation: Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support the operational continuity of this critical service.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for production systems, processes, and runbooks to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence.

A Day in the Life

No two days are alike on the arenaflex AWS SOC Systems Engineering team. On a typical day, you might begin by reviewing system health dashboards, triaging alerts, and addressing any anomalies that arise. You could spend the morning deep-diving into an unusual performance issue—tracing it through logs, reverse engineering existing solutions, and collaborating with partners to identify the root cause. By afternoon, you might be designing a new automated deployment pipeline using PowerShell or Python, or working alongside teammates to prepare our infrastructure for a company-wide upgrade.

In the coming months, our focus is on reducing technical debt by replacing legacy servers, upgrading the Lenel platform, and building modern monitoring capabilities. Engineers will have the opportunity to architect innovative deployment solutions and refresh how we observe and respond to system behavior. The work you do will directly influence the safety, security, and operational efficiency of one of the most critical systems within arenaflex.
