Position Overview

As a Remote Associate Network Security Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure that protects our applications, data, and connectivity across multiple environments. Working within our IT Information Security (InfoSec) Network Security team, you will support firewall management, remote access solutions, mobile connectivity platforms, and enterprise-level security operations that safeguard our internal users, business partners, vendors, and customers.

This part-time position is ideal for candidates who are pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor's degree in a related field and are eager to apply their knowledge of networking and security in a real-world, enterprise-scale environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, work with cutting-edge security technologies, and contribute to projects that strengthen the integrity and continuity of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design, engineering, and operational support for the core network security infrastructure supporting arenaflex applications, users, partners, and vendor connections.
  • Support IT initiatives to secure internal, partner, vendor, and external access to arenaflex and tenant applications across multiple critical data center environments.
  • Maintain firewall hardware and software, including site implementations, inventory management, system configuration, preventive maintenance, and break/fix services within mission-critical data center infrastructure.
  • Support enterprise remote access clients by aligning edge security technologies with user-based controls, leveraging advanced tools such as Application ID and User ID for granular identity management.
  • Manage hardware and software lifecycles, including site rollouts, inventory tracking, infrastructure planning, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Oversee mobile connectivity solutions for field and terminal operations, including platforms such as NetMotion, including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Partner with business units through consulting services to provide guidance on firewall configurations and access control best practices.
  • Provide on-call operational support for critical facilities and infrastructure components as part of the network security rotation.
  • Support the IT Information Security Division in maintaining the integrity, availability, and governance continuity of enterprise data and applications.
  • Recommend and help implement departmental policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to enhance security posture.
  • Ensure compliance with all governing corporate standards, industry regulations, and internal security policies.
  • Manage capital improvement projects, upgrades, and enhancements for data center and remote communications room infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, evaluate vendor offerings to secure the best products and services at optimal cost, and ensure vendors meet contractual obligations.
