Our client, a renowned luxury beauty brand with a prominent presence in Madison, Wisconsin, US , is seeking an experienced and creative Lead Makeup Artist and Beauty Consultant. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional who excels in artistry, client consultation, and team leadership. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional makeup services for a variety of occasions, from everyday enhancements to special events. A key aspect of this role involves guiding clients through product selection, offering personalized advice, and demonstrating application techniques to suit their individual features and preferences. As the Lead artist, you will also be expected to train and mentor junior makeup artists, setting high standards for artistry and customer service. You’ll stay abreast of the latest beauty trends, product innovations, and makeup artistry techniques globally, ensuring our client remains at the forefront of the industry. This position requires a strong portfolio showcasing diverse makeup styles and a deep understanding of color theory and skin types. You will contribute to visual merchandising efforts, create engaging content for social media, and participate in promotional events. The role involves a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence for client services and events, with potential for remote work on content creation or training development. Primary Responsibilities: Perform professional makeup applications for clients for various events and personal needs. Conduct in-depth beauty consultations, assessing client needs and recommending suitable products and techniques. Educate clients on makeup application, product usage, and skincare routines. Lead and mentor a team of makeup artists, providing ongoing training and performance feedback. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all product lines, ingredients, and benefits. Create and execute makeup looks based on current fashion and beauty trends. Assist with visual merchandising, ensuring product displays are attractive and informative. Contribute to social media content creation, including tutorials and product features. Participate in promotional events, workshops, and client engagement activities. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and products are sanitized. Manage appointment scheduling and client relationship management. Required Skills and Experience: Extensive experience as a professional makeup artist, with a strong portfolio. Proven experience in a leadership or training role within the beauty industry. In-depth knowledge of cosmetic products, application techniques, and skincare principles. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills. Strong understanding of color theory and ability to work with diverse skin tones and types. Creative vision and ability to adapt to various makeup styles and trends. Experience with digital marketing and social media platforms is a plus. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed.
