  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead a cross‑functional team of Lead Engineers, Senior Developers, and Technical Leads. Provide mentorship, set clear objectives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Define product roadmaps aligned with arenaflex’s business goals, collaborating closely with product managers, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Architecture & Design: Design scalable, resilient architectures using modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and guide implementation of best‑in‑class coding practices.
  • Process Governance: Oversee change‑control procedures, ensuring all releases adhere to regulatory, security, and compliance requirements (FAA, OSHA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Financial Stewardship: Develop and maintain budgets for technology investments, track ROI, and present financial forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Act as the primary liaison between engineering, product, and customer support teams, translating technical concepts into business value.
  • Incident Management: Serve as the escalation point for critical incidents, coordinating rapid response and post‑mortem analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Learning: Champion a learning environment by organizing workshops, hackathons, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all self‑service tools comply with industry safety standards and internal security policies, contributing to arenaflex’s overall safety performance metrics.

Minimum Qualifications (Essential)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong foundation in Java, AngularJS, and Node.js, demonstrated through academic projects, internships, or personal coding initiatives.
  • Hands‑on experience with distributed computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 35% of the time and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call periods for incident response.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship; must pass pre‑employment background and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Have)

  • Experience managing budgets and financial forecasts for technology projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering full‑cycle software products, from ideation to production rollout.
  • Deep understanding of airline industry operations, regulatory environments, and customer experience challenges.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and the ability to integrate safety considerations into product design.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Proficiency in full‑stack development, cloud architecture, API design, and DevOps practices.
  • Leadership: Ability to inspire, coach, and develop high‑performing technical teams.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem‑solving skills, data‑driven decision making, and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences and a deep empathy for passenger needs.
