About arenaflex

arenaflex is a forward-thinking, globally connected organization built on the principle that great work and great life should never be at odds. Our teams operate at the intersection of finance, technology, and strategic planning, helping leaders make smarter, faster, and more confident decisions. We believe in empowering our people with the tools, flexibility, and trust they need to do meaningful work from anywhere in the world. Whether you're an experienced analyst, a systems specialist, or a finance professional who loves building models that move businesses, arenaflex offers a place where your expertise directly shapes outcomes.

The Financial Planning Systems team at arenaflex is the engine behind our budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis capabilities. We design, maintain, and continuously improve the Hyperion and Essbase platforms that power enterprise-wide financial planning, and we partner with leaders across Finance, Accounting, and Operations to translate complex business problems into elegant automated solutions. Joining this team means becoming a trusted internal advisor to some of the most strategic decision-makers in the company.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Senior Analyst, Financial Planning Systems to support, develop, and optimize the financial systems and planning applications that drive arenaflex's Finance organization. This is a part-time, remote role based in the United States, with a steady 8-hour work schedule that fits into your life, not the other way around. The role requires a hybrid background in finance and information technology — someone equally comfortable building an Essbase cube as they are reviewing a consolidated financial forecast.

As a Senior Analyst, you will serve as both a steward of our mission-critical Hyperion Planning environment and an internal consultant to Finance teams across the enterprise. You'll identify automation opportunities, design effective solutions, maintain data integrity, and help business partners turn raw financial data into actionable insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hyperion Planning Support: Maintain and support the Hyperion Planning application on a day-to-day basis, ensuring reliable performance for both forecast and actuals workflows across all divisions.
  • Data Validation & Integrity: Validate financial data flowing from Hyperion Financial Management and from source controllers, resolving discrepancies in divisional roll-ups, intercompany transactions, and consolidation logic.
  • System Maintenance & Access Control: Oversee routine system maintenance, manage user permissions, and ensure governance standards are met across all financial planning environments.
  • User Support & Troubleshooting: Act as a trusted point of contact for Finance users, resolving system issues, refining existing reports, and providing guidance on structures, models, and planning processes.
  • Scenario & Variance Analysis: Assist in the preparation of in-depth what-if scenarios and rigorous variance analyses on complex financial topics, including competitive industry benchmarks.
  • Headcount & Workforce Planning: Coordinate and complete the monthly headcount process within Hyperion, ensuring alignment with HR data, organizational hierarchy changes, and the GL chart of accounts.
  • Hierarchy & Organizational Updates: Update the Hyperion Planning application to reflect organizational changes, coordinating structure updates with controllers and GL administrators.
  • Business Requirements Gathering: Meet with Finance and business groups to capture reporting and planning requirements, then design and propose efficient, scalable solutions.
  • Development of Planning Artifacts: Build Essbase cubes, Planning applications, reports, and forecasting/operational planning models tailored to the needs of individual Finance divisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve data quality, and elevate the user experience across the financial planning ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Professional Experience: At least 2 years of work experience in a Finance role, including hands-on exposure to financial statements, financial modeling, and financial analysis.
  • Technical Foundation: A solid IT background, including experience with Oracle technologies and familiarity with multidimensional and relational database structures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience using Hyperion, with demonstrated development and administration experience — including Smart View, Essbase, and Planning modules.
  • Prior exposure to enterprise-scale financial systems in a complex, multi-divisional organization.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior finance leaders and translating business needs into technical solutions.

Skills, Competencies & Attributes

  • Analytical Agility: Ability to adapt and flex analytical approaches based on the financial problem at hand; comfortable switching between detail-level and big-picture thinking.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong ability to troubleshoot, model, and analyze data with rigor and independence.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work, with a strong focus on accuracy and the discipline to prioritize competing tasks.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfort working with advanced spreadsheets and financial models.
  • Negotiation & Influence: Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to manage expectations and align stakeholders on the right path forward.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Exceptional team player with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse groups, geographies, and working styles.
  • Communication: Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial and technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
