PR Specialist (Earned Media, Journalist Pitching & Newswires)

- *About the Role**
We’re on the lookout for a super resourceful and proactive PR Specialist with at least 3 years of experience in earned/paid media and newswire work. You’ll play a key role in building our PR agency from the ground up—creating PR strategies, writing compelling content, reaching out to journalists, and managing newswires. This is a fully remote gig, and we’re open to both full-time and part-time folks.
- *What You’ll Do:**
🔹 Check out brand value propositions and find the right global outlets/journalists to target. 🔹 Craft catchy pitches, write journalist-ready stories, and create article releases. 🔹 Directly pitch journalists and handle all aspects of earned media. 🔹 Coordinate press release distribution (think PR Newswire, GlobeNewswire, etc.) with a focus on specific regions. 🔹 Work towards monthly visibility goals and share clear performance updates with clients. 🔹 Help shape our internal PR processes and databases as we grow. 🔹 Create media kits and basic graphics using tools like Canva or Figma. 🔹 Source daily media opportunities using platforms like HARO, Qwoted, and Featured to secure consistent executive commentary and brand placements.
- *What We’re Looking For:**
✅ 3+ years of experience in earned media PR and press release distribution (agency experience is a plus). ✅ A solid track record of getting media placements ✅ Familiarity with pitching or building relationships in areas like consumer electronics, lifestyle, home, cosmetics, fashion, baby care, or sports. ✅ Hands-on experience selecting and scheduling press release wires by region (US, EU, APAC, etc.). ✅ Experience with PR outreach tools like Qwoted, HARO, or Featured. ✅ Ability to work independently and create structured workflows from scratch.
- *Good to Have (Bonus Skills):**
⬆️ Experience with media analytics tools like Meltwater, Cision, Google Analytics, or CoverageBook. ⬆️ Basic understanding of SEO/GEO (how earned media affects search visibility and backlinks). ⬆️ Some know-how in web design or experience working with designers and video editors. ⬆️ Worked with PR crisis management
