The role collaborates with UX designers, content strategists, back-end developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality web solutions that comply with State of California accessibility standards and modern web development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop responsive web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
- Build and customize WordPress themes and templates.
- Convert Figma, Adobe XD, and Photoshop designs into production-ready web interfaces.
- Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and back-end services.
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements.
- Implement responsive and mobile-first design principles.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development teams.
- Utilize version control systems such as Git.
- Perform testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, content designers, and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications (MQ)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum four (4) years of front-end web development experience within the last six years.

The position ensures scalability, security, performance, and maintainability of web applications while supporting State of California digital service initiatives.

- Develop and maintain WordPress back-end functionality.
- Implement database design, management, and optimization.
- Ensure application security and session management.
- Develop and support cloud-based and enterprise web architectures.
