Department Overview Motorola Solution's Access Control Division is redefining how people experience the spaces they move through, starting at the front door. Job Description

Responsibilities: Feature Development: Design and develop new features across Avigilon Alta software and web applications, from concept through production. Integrations & Ecosystem: Build and maintain third-party integrations, produce clear developer documentation, and support APIs and SDKs that power our broader ecosystem. Platform Maturity: Help evolve our application platform and marketplace, contributing to long-term scalability, extensibility, and developer experience. System Architecture: Partner with product and engineering leaders to influence system architecture, technical direction, and design decisions across the platform. Cloud Infrastructure: Develop and operate software for deploying, managing, and monitoring production systems and cloud infrastructure. Quality & Craft: Write unit tests, automated UI tests, and execute test plans to ensure reliability, performance, and a high bar for quality Operational Excellence: Take a production-first mindset, sharing responsibility for system reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability. Agile Collaboration: Work closely with leadership and peers to prioritize and deliver work in a fast-moving, iterative environment What You Bring: Mindset & Approach A deep sense of curiosity and a drive to understand how systems work end-to-end Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to turn loosely defined problems into clear, actionable solutions Strong ownership mentality -- you care about what happens after code ships. Thoughtful technical judgement and a bias toward pragmatic, maintainable solutions. Clear communication and a collaborative mindset; you enjoy building with others, not in isolation Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or a related discipline 7+ years of experience building backend systems using Node.js API frameworks (HapiJS preferred), with additional experience in Python a plus 5+ years of experience with JavaScript development (React preferred) Strong command of object-oriented design, concurrency/threading concepts, resource management, and modern agile development practices Technical Skills Strong experience with SQL data stores and designing relational data models Familiarity with Serverless/Lambda, CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk, EC2/VPCs, and DynamoDB/RDS Proven track record building API-based integrations with services like G Suite, Microsoft Graph, Okta, OneLogin, and Slack Knowledge of Linux fundamentals (bash/command-line), Docker, and monitoring tools like Datadog or CloudWatch Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT), log/data analysis pipelines, and backend services for mobile applications Our Values: Driven: We Drive Results by consistently achieving our goals, even under tough circumstances Partners: We maintain a Customer Focus, building strong relationships and delivering solutions centered around our clients' needs Innovative: We value Innovation, constantly seeking new and better ways for our organization to thrive and succeed. Target Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
