  • Faculty adhere to all Walden University faculty expectations, which are clearly set forth at the start of his/her employment and through the Faculty Handbook.
  • Attend virtual and in-person faculty meetings, residencies, workshops, commencement, and training as required.
  • Ability to work a student-friendly schedule (evenings/weekends).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate: PhD in Nursing or DNP with the Nurse Educator specialization preferred.
  • 1+ year of graduate teaching experience is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who bring diverse perspectives to the program.
  • Capacity and willingness to provide individualized instructional support and guidance to a diverse population of students.
  • Demonstrate capacity through application materials to support Walden University’s mission and vision.

Requirements

  • Multi-State/Compact RN License is required.
  • Minnesota RN license is considered a plus.
  • National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator CNE® credential for academic faculty or the Nursing Professional Development Board Certified NPD BC™ credential is required.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience and/or a capacity and willingness to instruct a diverse population of students.
  • Actively engaged in academic scholarship or research.
  • Experience teaching in online or virtual environments is preferred.
  • Experience with distance learning preferred.

Benefits

  • Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course.
  • Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course.
  • Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
  • Walden also offers other opportunities for its adjunct faculty members, such as dissertation/doctoral study committee chair positions, research reviewing, and dissertation and doctoral study mentoring.
