Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded leader to support the development and implementation of a new Integrated Outage Management model within a major power generation environment. This role will play a critical part in transforming the organisation’s current outage delivery structure by helping establish a Joint Venture (JV) partnership responsible for the coordination and management of outage-related activities across multiple subcontractors and workstreams. The successful candidate will initially act as a strategic consultant, supporting the design, assessment, and establishment of the JV model. Following successful implementation, the role is expected to transition into a long-term operational leadership position overseeing the ongoing performance and delivery of outage activities through the JV structure. This is a highly strategic opportunity suited to senior professionals with extensive experience in outage management, operational transformation, major project delivery, or integrated service models within regulated industrial environments. Phase 1 – Strategic Consultancy & JV Development During the initial consultancy phase, the successful candidate will support the creation and implementation of the Integrated Outage Management framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and review current outage delivery models, subcontractor structures, and operational workflows
• Identify inefficiencies, duplication, and opportunities for consolidation and optimisation
• Define the operational scope, capabilities, and governance structure required for the Joint Venture partner
• Lead market engagement activities and support identification, evaluation, and selection of suitable JV partner organisations
• Support commercial discussions, due diligence processes, and strategic negotiations
• Develop operational frameworks, governance models, KPIs, reporting structures, and accountability measures
• Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders across operations and leadership teams
• Align internal stakeholders and support organisational change management initiatives
• Assist in the successful negotiation and establishment of the Joint Venture structure
• Travel periodically to the UAE to engage with stakeholders, partners, and operational teams

Phase 2 – Long-Term Operational Leadership Following successful establishment of the Joint Venture, the role will transition into a leadership position supporting operational delivery and ongoing management of outage activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mobilisation and operational stabilisation of the newly established JV structure
• Oversee end-to-end outage delivery through an integrated subcontractor management framework
• Ensure outage activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with schedule, cost, and quality objectives
• Drive performance management, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage operational risks, escalation items, and delivery challenges across multiple workstreams
• Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across operations, contractors, and leadership teams
• Ensure alignment between JV operations and broader organisational objectives
• Identify long-term opportunities for operational optimisation, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction

Ideal Background & Experience The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience leading complex outage, turnaround, shutdown, or integrated operational programs within highly regulated industrial environments. Preferred Experience Includes
