Chemistry Expert or Specialist (AI Training) About The Role What if your years of chemistry expertise could directly shape how AI reasons through complex scientific problems — from undergraduate fundamentals to PhD-level research? We're looking for Chemistry Experts to help evaluate and improve the scientific reasoning of cutting-edge AI models, ensuring they think rigorously, accurately, and like a true scientist. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for PhD-level chemists who want to apply their knowledge in a new and impactful way. No AI background required — your deep subject matter expertise is what matters.

What You'll Do

  • Design advanced chemistry problems spanning areas such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, thermodynamics, and more
  • Develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate expert-level reasoning and logical precision
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, depth of reasoning, and quality of explanation
  • Identify gaps, errors, and weaknesses in AI outputs and provide structured, actionable feedback
  • Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks across undergraduate to PhD-level chemistry topics
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Pursuing or holding a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains with the ability to reason from first principles
  • Able to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly and precisely in writing
  • Naturally detail-oriented — you notice when reasoning is flawed, incomplete, or imprecise
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
  • No prior AI or machine learning experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience in data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
  • Background in academic research, curriculum development, or scientific writing
  • Familiarity with AI tools or language model evaluation workflows
  • Expertise spanning multiple chemistry subfields
