Field Operations Manager – Lead Nationwide Commercial and Federal Solar Builds

Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will serve as a pivotal remote leader, driving the successful execution of high-impact solar construction projects across the commercial and federal sectors. This role empowers you to orchestrate complex field operations and mentor site supervisors while expanding renewable energy infrastructure nationwide. You will have the autonomy to manage diverse project portfolios with the full support of a dedicated executive leadership team.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Oversee the lifecycle of multiple solar construction projects from initial planning through final completion.

  • Coordinate daily operations between field crews and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Track project performance metrics and labor allocation to maintain strict adherence to timelines.

  • Monitor project budgets and resource utilization to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.

  • Ensure all installations meet rigorous safety regulations, quality standards, and client specifications.

  • Provide direct operational support and mentorship to foremen and site supervisors in the field.

  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and team performance across all active sites.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience managing construction, electrical, or solar installation projects.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple remote teams and projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills necessary for high-stakes project coordination.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed project plans, schedules, and technical reports.

  • Knowledge of industry-standard construction safety regulations and jobsite procedures.

  • Absolute willingness to travel to project sites approximately 4–6 times per year as required.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience specifically within commercial or utility-scale solar installations.

  • Direct experience managing installation crews or field supervisors in a leadership capacity.

  • Background in electrical project management or renewable energy operations.

  • Familiarity with digital project management tools and remote operational tracking systems.
