- Assist with supervision and training of peer tutorial staff of 15-20 undergraduates tutors.

- Maintains knowledge of course and departmental curricula at UC Berkeley.

- Knowledge of multiple learning styles, affective, socio-cultural and linguistic issues as they apply to academic support.
- Knowledge of how learning skills issues apply to a research institution.
- Knowledge of strategies in critical thinking, reading, writing, note taking, test taking, time management, and goal setting.
- Skills in judgment and decision-making.

- Knowledge of the learning demands of the research university.
